Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Continental EuropeCOBCOE (the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Continental Europe) is considered to be an independent non-profit organization, which controls the British chambers of commerce all over Continental Europe. The main aim for the given organization is to protect and promote uk business interests. Acting in such a way, COBCOE helps its chambers and their partners with a constant representation, cooperation and trade stimulation. For instance, the British Chamber of Commerce gives their members a splendid opportunity to get some assistance and attend special meetings being in another country.
It should be pointed out that COBCOE is closely connected with governments and various organizations, such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)/UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), Confederation of British Industry (CBI), Institute of Directors (IoD), and the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC).
The information on the present services, meetings and events is available over the COBCOE web site. In addition, COBCOE includes a lot of various networking and communication channels that allow to represent the best practical experience, to find necessary resources and to create special links, which are available for each chamber. In general, the COBCOE member network contains twenty British Chambers of Commerce and about seven thousands of companies all over Europe. It should be emphasized that each member of the given organization can also use the resources of the other British chambers. In fact, the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Continental Europe makes a very important contribution to the development of the international trade and promotes UK business interests all over Europe. The annual COBCOE's conference, which is usually held either in London or Brussels (e.g. the 2005 meeting took place in Brussels and the last 2006 conference was held in London) plays a big role in forming the British-European trade relations. The given conference is suggested to be a splendid opportunity for all chamber directors and officers, which permits them to exchange the experience with each other. In other words, COBCOE presents a special informational platform, which helps increase both the membership and revenue and agives a possibility to improve services due to the constant information exchange. COBCOE arranges a lot of various training programs for all its members.
As it is known, Switzerland was the first country, which subscribed several business members to the Reuters News Digest. As we can see, at the present moment, improved by the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Continental Europe, the given service has become available for seven chambers of COBCOE.
In addition, COBCOE European Trade Guide 2006 has been developed by COBCOE and Trade & Communications International Ltd. and has a distribution of about ten thousands of copies in the UK and all over Europe.
