Partnership between Maya and Western Creative (famous for offering High-Definition Television)

The Western Creative advertising agency acquired Alias/Maya 3D animation and special effects software in 2004. Maya is a professional animation tool for character animation, special effects and hyper real renderings. Alias/Maya 3D was used in a number of Oscar Award winning movies, including Lord of the Rings, Finding Nemo, The Matrix and many other feature films.

"It gives us unbelievable capabilities for effects and character animation, as well as raising the bar on quality of all of our work," Chad Taylor, the Multimedia Director of Western Creative stated. "The power of Maya is really difficult to explain. It does everything. We are currently working on a fully CG (computer graphics and animation) spot that revolves around the Kentucky Derby. Without Maya's ability for quick previews, intuitive character animation and detail effects like particle systems for flying mud off the track as the horse runs by, we would not be able to do it to the level we want," continued the director.

"Eight horses, jockeys made up of glass windows, dynamic camera angles and all the elure of the Kentucky Derby - all done with Alias|Wavefront's Maya. It is so much fun to use and it creates such beautiful images; with today's computer technology on the desktop it gives us so much more power than ever before and really makes animation affordable," finished the director.
