The 7.2-megapixel Z750 is much more impressive than its handsome predecessor Exilim EX-Z55, which offers a wonderful look, however, a disappointing image quality. It has a 2.5-inch screen and a "jeans-pocketable" design, providing a better image quality and a more solid performance than its forbearer. However, it still lacks some of the advanced manual features, presented by Casio P700 (it is larger but similarly priced), the Casio Exilim EX-Z750 is the most suitable of the Exilim models for those photographers, who need both, the style and quality.
Design
The Z750 has a brushed-metal frame, which does not only look attractive but it is uneasy to scratch. The mode dial, the menu button, the four-way selector, and the display toggle are placed within an easy reach of your right button.
The very fascinating menu system, which makes operations more effectual due to its new features, distinguishes Casio Exilim EX-Z750 from the other Exilim models. The auto focus area and digital zoom are now separate from the image size and white balance, which makes the access to the functions easier and quicker.
Features
Its set of features may be the greatest advantage of this camera. The 3X zoom corresponds to a focal length of 38mm to 114mm (a 35mm equivalent). The wide-angle focal length of 38mm may be a little narrow for taking indoor shots.
The Z750 contains about thirty preset Best Shot modes. One of them is an anti shake option, lacking in the previous Exilim models. It does not guarantee the level of stabilisation you can get from a Panasonic's optical anti shake mechanism, however, is does offer a take of an unsteady hand. This anti shake technology is the most useful at the slow shutter speeds.
The Casio Exilim EX-Z750 includes a great amount of video features, taken from the Exilim Pro EX-P505. This camera also has such useful features as the Short Movie and Past Movie. They use the memory buffer of the camera and start recording your videos before you hit the shutter, which is very helpful in taking video of unexpected moments, such as a hit at a football game.
Image quality
With the Casio Exilim EX-Z750, the Casio Company has solved the problem of the poor image quality in the next-generation of the Exilim models. The test shots showed a considerable color reproduction under different lighting conditions and the images showed good noise levels at the low ISO settings.
Performance
The Z750's time for the first shot is one point eight seconds; the shutter lag under the bright conditions is 0.2 seconds and under the dim conditions 0.3 seconds, this rates it in the top 10 among point-and-shoot cameras. Therefore, those, who do not want to miss the moment, will be very pleased by this model.
The tests showed that the shot-to-shot performance was not very impressive; the between shots time was two point three seconds without a flash and a bit better than usual three point nine seconds with the flash enabled.
In the competition of maximizing the life of the lithium-ion battery among different Exilim models, the Casio Exilim EX-Z750is a champion, the model was able to fulfill 1,075 shots before the camera turned off.
