Epson, one of the global leaders in printers, digital projectors and LCDs production, has presented its new product for photo printing - Stylus Photo R2400 printer. Along with a new printer, Epson also announced its new UltraChrome K3 ink. The combination of R2400 printer, specially designed driver, and up-to-date K3 ink technology enables users to create professional-quality prints on a wide variety of media. Epson Stylus Photo R2400 printer provides inkjet printing based on the Abvanced Micro Piezo technology. The distinguishing feature of this technology is that it allows printing with ink droplets with size as small as 3.5 picoliters. Thus the extremely small size of droplets allows Epson to reach high resolution in printing, which can be up to 5760x1440 dots per inch. Besides, new Epson printer embodies several interesting and useful features.
- Border Free printing sizes. It means that Epson Stylus Photo R2400 can perform printing on the whole area of paper without borders or margins. Printer supports all popular print sizes, from 4"x 6" up to 13"x 19", including letter size.
- High-Performance Print Engine Speeds. Being one of the fastest Epson photo printers, R2400 prints 11"x14" photo within 1 minute 47 seconds.
- Professional Media Handling. There are three ways of feeding paper into the printer: sheet - for typical paper, rear - for rolls and single-sheet fine art, and straight-through - for 1.3mm thick media, like cardboard paper.
- Epson Paper Options. R2400 supports different types of papersfor printing, like glossy and matte paper, ultra smooth photo paper, premium bright white paper, water color radiant white paper and others.
The specialized software, supplied with new Epson printer, provides tools for efficient and user-friendly production of qualitative prints. R2400 comes with a Print Image Matching Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop and four popular black and white filters from Color Efex Pro™ 2.0. In addition, Epson RAW Print is also included for easy printing of RAW format image files retrieved from digital cameras. Several specific solutions are to provide professional color management in Stylus Photo R2400. The Epson Stylus Photo R2400 driver provides black and white image control, quick toning presets, shadow and highlight tonality control, maximum optical density control, reduced gloss differential, and custom tone control. Another feature of unique Epson Driver is the ability to convert digital photo images into black and white professional-like prints. Epson UltraChrome K3 Ink Technology is among the main improvements used in R2400 production. This technology is based on the combination of typical color inks with three levels of black ink and provides higher density of colors and generally wider color gamut. Printer is equipped with two interchangeable cartridges - Photo Black and Matte Black, providing different black color density and contrast levels.
