Jordan Mobile Telephone Services (JMTS/Fastlink) was founded in 1995. It was the first operator to introduce the mobile phone services into Jordan. In 2000, Fastlink became a subsidiary of Orascom Telecom, the largest GSM network operator in the Middle East and Africa. In August, 2002, the total number of the JMTS Company's subscribers reached nine hundred thousand people.
