Looking at the technical characteristics of the new Mac Mini and, then, taking into account its size - it is becoming clear why the Mac Mini is really a revolutionary device, worth of attention.
A power G4 processor, 512 Mb of memory, combo drive, hard disk with forty or eighty GB of space, sufficient set of interface ports and support of the wireless protocols - all these components are placed into a stylish aluminium casing, which is only six and a half inches square, two inches tall and two point nine pounds heavy. Indeed, the Apple engineers did their best in not wasting even a single inch of space inside its new creation.
Furthermore, the Mac Mini features the functionality, which is not always offered by every desktop computer. The Internet access is possible with the help of a built-in modem or an AirPort Extreme, supporting the Wi-Fi protocol. The Ethernet, headphone/audio line-out jacks and S-video output are also among the basic features of the Mac Mini computers.
Naturally, the Mac Mini comes with a preinstalled Mac OS X Tiger with all the enhanced features, presented in the latest version of the operating system from Apple. The Apple developers underline the Spotlight and Dashboard tools as the most prominent enhancements in the new Tiger OS. These instruments help to find and access the necessary files or information in the computer in a second.
The iLife software serves to entertain the owner of a Mac Mini and helps him to work with the multimedia files. For instance, you can organise photographs and share them among friends with ease; the editing of the digital video content from the camcorder is also very comfortable and easy with the iLife applications.
