Hewlett Packard, the world known developer and manufacturer of peripherals, laptop and server solutions, announced the new technology in the printer's construction and presented new devices, based on it. HP added several new printers and digital cameras in its range of products.

The central point of the announcement is the new technology, which has been already implemented in the repetition work of the ink jet printers. The company spent five years of time, more than one billion dollars to reach its goal in the ink jet printing and set up a new industry record for this type of printers. The new HP inkjets can print a photograph in fourteen seconds, which is a real breakthrough for the inkjet photo printers, as the analogue devices from other vendors show the speed at the level of about one- three minutes for one photograph printing.

Actually, the technology touches the construction of the printhead. The HP specialists used the photolithographic method to assemble all the components of the printhead into one solid unit. Earlier, these components were welded together during the post production. As a result, HP reached a more precise alignment of the chamber, nozzles and heating elements in the printhead, resulting in the increased number of nozzles (3900), placed on the working area of the printhead. This technology opened new horizons for HP. First, HP can increase the size of the swath - the area the printhead covers with each pass over a page. With larger swathes, the printhead needs to make fewer passes over a page, thus, leading to the increased speeds. Second, HP can enlarge the number of nozzles on the printhead to provide a higher quality and richer color gamut.

The HP Photosmart 8250 Photo Printer, priced at hundred and ninety nine dollars and the HP Photosmart 3000 All-in-One series, priced from two hundred and ninety nine to three hundred and ninety nine dollars, are the first printers, built in accordance with the new technology. These devices aim at the consumers, who want to print a large amount of photos with an extreme speed. Moreover, the new HP photo printers feature six individual HP Vivera ink cartridges, ensuring beautiful colors of the photos and crisp text.

The HP Photosmart 8250 Photo Printer is already available via hpshopping.com and major retailers. The HP Photosmart 3000 All-in-One series is coming this autumn.

Another new line from HP is the Officejet Pro K550 Color Printer series. These single-function printers are to deliver a superior color, laser-like quality text and water-resistant prints. HP declares that the OfficeJet Pro printers offer twice the print speed and half the purchase cost of the competitive color laser printers. They must appear in retail stores this fall.

Traditionally, HP announces the whole bouquet of new devices. This time is not an exception from the rule. Along with printers, based on the new technology, HP presented several new models in the Photosmart line - 475 GoGo Photo Printer, capable of printing five by seven inch photos in addition to four by six inch and panorama prints; 420 GoGo Photo Studio, which includes a camera and a printer with a dock.

HP introduced the Photosmart R818, R817 and M517 digital cameras, featuring new HP Real Life Technologies, thus, consumers cannot only preview the panorama photos, but can now stitch them together inside the camera, allowing easy printing of the panorama photos without a computer.
