Email protection script - your arms to fight against email viruses

If your e-mail address was caught by spyware (spam bots, etc.), it is a rather serious matter. After that the infected message will be distributed among your friends and co-workers, whose e-mails were in your address book. The consequences of this are rather impressive: several large companies had to stop their email servers for some time as the computers were infected by email viruses.
Unfortunately now email is the most popular channel of virus distribution for hackers and spammers. The reasons for this are clear: more and more people all over the world are using email for business and personal purposes. However, for any action there is a reaction. There exist ways to avoid getting your e-mail address to wrong hands, mainly by means of various scripts. Scripts are short programs written for a program or an operating system. Scripts can perform different operations, such as manipulation with files (copying, editing, replacing), printing text and program administration. Email protection script - this is a tool designed especially for e-mail protection and fighting against spam bots. Email protection script helps you to keep away from spam, hiding your email address from spam bots' databases. One of the most famous email viruses on the Net is considered the Melissa virus, which spread in March 1999 as an e-mail message with an attached Microsoft Word file which included a macro virus. The virus infected the computers of those users, who opened the Word attachment. The further way of the virus was to the address book of the victim, where the virus program sent the same message to the first 50 people in the contact list. The infected email included a harmless text message mentioning the recipient's name, so the new victim opened the file and ran the attachment being completely sure that the letter is not dangerous. After that the virus again created 50 new e-mails from the person's contact list and the process of infection went further. This malicious virus was claimed to be the fastest-spreading virus that ever existed and the official losses from its activity were millions of dollars. However, the computers of people who read the infected e-mail message but didn't open the Word attachment were not affected and did not pass the dangerous e-mail to their friends and co-workers. This is the way how one should act in case one receives a strange e-mail with some files attached to it. Never open such attachments if you are not sure of their origin, as the security of your computer is much more important. The hacker who developed the virus was luckily identified and hafted. He confessed and was found guilty, but the virus structure was copied by many gamblers and hackers and many similar viruses appeared all over the world. E-mail viruses can be subdivided into the following categories: viruses-attachments, viruses-scripts, viruses based on java scripts. Script viruses usually travel in email correspondence and MS Office documents, however they can also exist on web pages. On personal computers with Windows operating systems it is important that your email protection script is running constantly and is up-to-date. But most programs in Windows are written in Visual Basic language, so the antivirus software you have can cause ""hang ups" and exceed the time it takes for normal system applications to run. If you notice this kind of stuff on your PC, you can disable your email protection script for some time, but be sure to enable it later on.
