The products of a young Taiwan company, E-Ten, are mostly unknown to the vast mass of users, however, it is worthy to get acquainted with them due to their possibilities to compete with the products of other manufacturers. Indeed, E-Ten began manufacturing communicators less than two years ago. Nevertheless, its models have their advantages in comparison to other products: a reasonable price and the quick eliminating of the weak points, which appeared in the older models. A good example is the communicator m500, released after the previous model P300, which had failed to meet the demands of the users. The manufacturer took into account all the shortcomings, noticed in the P300, and tried to remove them all.
The E-Ten communicator, m500, has now a highly-valued TFT-display with good, rich and pleasant colors. The high quality of the display and the wide range of brightness allow to work with this model almost in all conditions, irrespective to the external lightning. The capacity of the available battery is enough for watching video for three hours or reading electronic books for seven hours, when the brightness is maximal.
The E-Ten's m500 is equipped with a 1.3 mega pixel camera. This powerful phone permits receiving and making calls easily in, sometimes, rough city conditions with much noise and even from the basement buildings. The sound quality is high: the voice of the speaking person is distinct, loud enough and without metallic echo. One of the best and most interesting innovations in modern phones is the Voice Commander - a program, which allows to dial the phone numbers using the voice itself. This option is also available in the E-Ten m500. In addition, a special attention must be paid to the presence of the CallFilter, which helps to create a list of welcomed and unwelcome calls.
The body design of the given communicator differs in comparison with the previous model, currently, it is absolutely deprived of the sharp and rough angles, the coloring is grey with black insertions, and the plastic is of high quality. The E-Ten m500 is very well-assembled; the battery cover is tightly adjoined, therefore, it will not crack even when pressed hard.
The new E-Ten communicator is well-balanced, thus, it makes it comfortable and easy to work with it, using one hand only. The set of the operating buttons is standard - it consists of the four buttons and a four-positioned joystick on the main panel; the volume slider, camera operating and voice dialing buttons are on the left facet. The socket for additional accessories plugging is situated in the lower part. In addition, if the user wants to change the supplied earphones for other ones, he will need a transitional connector; however, the sound quality of the available earphones is high enough.
As for the processor, the Samsung S3C 2440 is used here. It fits into the communicator of this level and performs the tasks fast enough. The capacity of the operational memory is also very good to use the m500 as an organizer. Moreover, the SD-cards support is available to provide more space to store data.
It is obvious that E-Ten communicators will have soon their own space on the communicating technology market due to their functionality, quality and price.
