Zoltan began practicing Morin's theories of astrology, particularly those using horoscope synthesis and chart reading. At some point Zoltan added the surname Mason, and in 1948 he moved to New York City in the United States, opening up a book store. His practice of astrology became more renowned, and besides putting Morin's theory into play, he utilized his psychological and sociological background to flesh out his own horoscopes and expound on Morin's theories.
Zoltan Mason gained some fame from his accurate horoscopes, and was loved for his fusion of morality and ethicality into the practice of astrology. He believed the more studied and researched a subject the better a profile could be drawn or sketched. Zoltan did some television appearances, and was often covered on radio and in print in numerous countries, but perhaps his biggest gift to astrology was his willingness and his ability to carry Morin's work on even further, teaching Morin's philosophies as the years went by. He added and synthesized Morin's theory of horoscope synthesizing, realizing as Morin did that excellent astrology is a unique thing in and unto itself, and if properly practiced, astrology should breathe life into the horoscope.
Zoltan Mason ran his metaphysical new age book store for most of the remainder of his life until he retired, though he studied and practiced psychology until his death in two thousand and two.
Zoltan led an incredible life that spanned the globe. He gained some fame during his time but mostly he gained knowledge which he shared of freely and for many years. The world of astrology sorely misses Zoltan S. Mason, astrologer. There are few men as talented and thoughtful as him in any field. Zoltan was a man who was as adept at being a teacher as he was at being a practitioner and a student, but Zoltan left quite a large body of work. He preserved and furthered the work of Morin, he furthered along the precision of astrology itself, he spread the word by selling books that opened up the mind, and he taught and shared his knowledge of astrology for many years before he passed away. Zoltan left a legacy behind that will live on for centuries, much like his idol and teacher in absentia, Morin de Villefranche.
Anyone that can be mentioned in the same breath as their mentor or idol when all is said and done has certainly led a blessed successful life. Zoltan Mason is not only remembered for his work, but for his love of astrology and his ability to carry its torch on into the next generation of astrologers.
