Nicholas Culpeper works

Nicholas Culpeper was a famous astrologer in the sixteen hundreds who advanced the use of herbs in the medicinal field. Nicholas Culpeper was one of the greatest astrologers to ever live, but he is equally well known as a great physician at the time, who also furthered the medicinal practices that he explored as an herbalist and botanist. Either way, Nicholas Culpeper was a great man.
Nicholas Culpeper was a practicing astrologer and physician in the mid to late sixteen hundreds in Europe. He was one of the greatest most famed astrologers to ever grace this planet. His books are still sold over four hundred years later on the internet, and they still sell very well. His theories are not only taught as a part of modern astrology and modern medicine, but they are still practiced round the world. If four centuries isn't a sign of staying power, then I don't know what is, especially for an astrologer who practiced during a time when astrology was treated like a second class citizen to the world of science and medicine. Nicholas Culpeper began his life studying under an apothecary, who taught Nicholas the trade of middle age pharmacist for the standard cash and servitude that was common at the time. Eventually Nicholas married into money and opened his own apothecary, but after awhile he was accused of practicing witchcraft. While he was no doubt not a witch h gave perhaps the greatest gift any astrologer ever gave to modern astrology or science.

Nicholas Culpeper taught the common man the art of medicine and astrology. This doesn't sound like much, but at the time knowledge was not for the common man, it was a birthright of aristocracy and title and was handed down inside wealthy circles. Nicholas taught the castigated and neglected lower class how to better understand maladies and how to treat themselves. Indeed, this angered many of his peers who labeled him a nutcase and tried to strip him of his practice. He systemized medicine and made it simple for people to read and understand and utilize and is probably most remembered for this, as this predates the modern library of medicine that exists today. Though this seems like a simple feat, in the timeframe that this occurred, this caused Nicholas great consternation from many enemies. Nicholas is also credited for translating many medicines so that common people could read them and many of his translations still exist, many of his theories are still practiced, and if you think about it, it was a very progressive, very American way of thinking. In fact, many of the first Americans that crossed the Atlantic to come to this great nation utilized herbal medicine that was translated by Nicholas Culpeper. The work of Nicholas Culpeper is still revered today if they weren't revered at the time by his peers. He is not only a great figure in medicine, in the occult, and in astrology, he is a great figure in history. To the worsening of his reputation at the time, as if it wasn't bad enough that Nicholas Culpeper spread the word and practice of medicine and herbal therapy, he provided medicines at a much cheaper rate than the other pharmacists of the time. They offered expensive concoctions and herbal remedies that Nicholas Culpeper offered cheap enough for the common man to afford. Though he was an odd character even at a strange time in general, he was a good man with a good heart and a good work ethic. He offered people the opportunity to help themselves and to spread the ability to help ones self, a certain danger to any industry or business.
