2002; Year of the Horse

The most recent year of the horse began on February 12th of the year 2002. As the Chinese New Year is not celebrated on the same day as that of the New Year in Western culture, it may seem strange to know that the Nian Ma (horse year) is not usually a good year for the Horse, or for the homes that have someone in them that is assigned the Chinese zodiac symbol of the horse.

For families who have a member born in the year of the horse, they will be especially subject to sickness, negative accidents and all around bad luck during the year of the horse and, in particular the fire horse, are generally not years to be anticipated. As the fire horse is very selfish, therefore, starts a lot of trouble within himself/herself and within his/her family units.

The fire horse hates to be bored and is independent in personality. Freedom in choosing both friendships and interests is characteristic and their whimsical, impulsive unpredictability can be quite attractive. People born in the year of the horse are very lively and high-spirited. Mentally alert and decisive, careers best suited for those born in the year of the horse are in politics, government positions that involve investigation, enforcement and community service.

Anger is something to be avoided at all costs when dealing with the horse for their rage will leave a person feeling very different about the individual. Needing plenty of room for expressing him/herself, the horse has to master his temper in order to succeed in people management. The horse's desire to be the center of attention will tire others who, after trying to soften the blow, will dislike the horse.

Love is not a strong suit for those people born in the year of the horse, as these men and women seem to loose their minds when it comes to love. Getting bored or tired in relationships, the Horse will go through many partners in love relationships. As soon as the other person begins to make demands of the horse, the Horses' free spirit feels trap and the partner looses. Although the horse loves children and being married multiple times is a real possibility in the life of a Horse, the horse is said to mellow in older age. Whether male or female, the excitability and free will of those born in the year of the horse lend them to put down roots late in life, after the fire is tamed.

Compatible Chinese astrology zodiac signs for those born in the year of the horse are the dog and the tiger, although the horse can have a good relationship with almost any sign of the zodiac except the rat, the dog is the most suited characteristic of the zodiac signs.
