Your Family And Canada Foster Care

Added: 11/21/2007

Foster care is a type of organization that is there to be a type of stand in parent for children without a family or who have been removed from their parents (this happens for many different reasons). Canada foster care works much in the same way as other foster care organizations around the world. Foster care is something that is there to help kids that have been separated from their parents because of different issues. Canada foster care is a way for kids to become the responsibility of the government until they are 18 years old.

Whenever you are talking about a kid in Canada foster care, you may be talking about a Crown Ward. This is a term use to describe kids that have been put in Canada foster care. A Crown Ward becomes the responsibility of the government until they are at least 18 years old. The whole point of Canada foster care is to help improve the welfare of the children in Canada. If they are in a home where they had been abused, or the parents are unfit to raise them, then these children need to get out of that environment. Because of Canada foster care, kids now have a place to go. However, they do not want the child to lose contact with their families if the child choose that they want to continue being in touch with them. In fact, the amended Child and Family Services Act provides children with the choice of staying in touch and keeping ties with their family. Of course, Canada also has a nonprofit organization that is known as The Foster Care Council of Canada. Now this is a place that was made for the sole purpose of getting Canadians that deal with foster care, to work with them to help improve the child's lifestyle. Of course, being a Crown Ward does have its ups as well. In fact, the government is more than willing to help the children out long after they leave the Canada foster care house. Of course, this is up to the child when he grows up.

If the Crown Ward, or the child in Canada foster care, chooses to terminate their parents' rights to have ties with them, then this child will remain in Canada foster care until he is 18 years old. After which he has the right to apply for extended care from the government. If they are approved, then they will receive financial services from the government of Canada until the age of 25. However, to get this money they have to stay in school or remain employed. The extended care program of the Canada foster care program is a good idea. I think it is a good way to help out these kids that have not had real parents their whole life. These are kids that grow up without a family, and it is time to give something back to them. Most of us do not know what it is like to grow up without our family, but I am sure it is not an easy thing. The kids that are under Canada foster care have a hard life, not so much physically, but mentality. However, a lot of times this type of thing can be so mentality draining that it does effect the child physically as well. I think it is great to give something back to the people that have had a hard life. Sometimes if feel like the government does not do enough to help us. It seems like the government in Canada does a lot to help the people that live there. Not only do they help out their Canada foster care children, but they also help out with health care to all the people that live there as well. This is something that I wish that all governments would do around the world.

Canada foster care is better than some of the other foster care services out there in the world. However, it does not matter what type of foster care system you grow up in, you are in for a tough battle. There is a lot you think about while you are staying in foster care. Sometimes you feel like it is your fault, and that nobody wants you. This is not something that we want these kids to feel. We want them to feel loved and needed. Canada foster care does a great job giving these kids a little more support than other systems, but these children need love as well.
