Would This Be Your Choice for the New Year: Hotels without a Forest?

The writer of the following article encourages anyone going to New Year hotels to check out the activities in all of the public rooms. One never knows when one will find a former friend or co-worker at a party room in a New Year hotel. The writer once took her husband to a Christmas party. He discovered that he knew someone from the travel industry who was at a second party in the same hotel.
Whenever someone in the United Kingdom goes online in search of cottages for New Year, that resident of Great Britain could easily become confused. If that individual had gone online in hopes of avoiding any New Year hotels in or near a big city, then the probable confusion could present a real problem.

Suppose, for example, that the British citizen searching the Internet has had hopes that a reservation at cottages for the New Year will offer a particular setting. Suppose that the British citizen in search of cottages expects a chance to welcome the coming year in a forest setting. Forests often surround the cottages in Great Britain. Suppose, however, that a search engine somehow directs the Internet user to accommodations in Lake ‘Forest, California.

Suppose that the Internet user then noticed the name “Candlewood Suites” among the listing of New Year hotels in Lake Forest. The word “candle” would certainly leave the impression that the listed accommodation might be surrounded by forest. A citizen of Great Britain could leap to a false conclusion. That British citizen could think that in the U.S. a list of New Year hotels automatically included the names of several cottages.

The logic of that poor British citizen would be even more strained, if he or she were to notice the words “Comfort Suites” under the words “Candlewood Suites.” A “comfort suite” would certainly sound like a sort of cottage. The British citizen would no doubt associate comfort with a night at a cottage. That same individual would probably hope to avoid any of the most crowded New Year hotels.

An Internet user might find it difficult to locate what appeared to be an affordable hotel at which to spend the New Year. If price were a concern, the Internet user might think about reserving a room at the Best Value Inn in Lake Forest, CA. One would not expect a lot of loud celebrating at any of the New Year hotels that promised a good value to those staying at such apparently low-cost lodgings.

If there were no rooms available at any of the above-mentioned accommodations, then the Internet user in Great Britain could end-up reserving a room at the Best Western Laguna, El Toro Inn. The words “El Toro” might call to mind the tale of Ferdinand the bull. Ferdinand’s fabled desire to find peaceful repose was not unlike the desires of the Internet user in search of cottages.

A citizen in Great Britain would have no way of knowing that Lake Forest, CA. is a thriving city in Orange County. There are people near the corner of Laguna and El Toro Roads who would love to celebrate in style on New Year’s Eve. They do not want to spend the night at any small cottage. They want to spend the night at one of the well-known New Year hotels.

In fact, there are some citizens of Lake Forest who frequently refer to a forest as a “jungle.” They would never want to spend New Year’s Eve in a jungle. They would find it hard to understand why any British citizen would spend time searching online for southern California cottages.
