Where Do They Stand? Feminism On Religion

Feminism on religion can be very critical. But before they label religion as sexist, I think they should do their homework. Who were these woman heroines that we hear about from the bible. A quick look will tell you their tales and show that religion is DEFINITELY not a sexist party. All feminists have a little religion in them, whether it is atheism, Hinduism, or Christianity.
Where does feminism on religion think? Most feminists are either spiritual or atheist, but there are so few Christian feminists. Most of the Christian beliefs seem to put a man over a woman. This angers most feminists. In the King James Version of the Bible it states in Ephesians 5:23 “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.” This infuriates non-Christian Feminists, because they see feminism on religion as a good thing. Since it says that, does that mean that the man the head does that make the woman the tale? This is definitely not true. Just because the man is the spiritual head does not mean that he controls every aspect of his wife’s life. She still has her liberties and freedoms. This is one reason why feminism on religion is so critical, because they do not know the whole truth. Have they not heard of strong courageous women who have done mighty and great things through God. He uses anyone and anything.
In most religions women are treated as inferior to men. They are told to be submissive, denied leadership, and the religious doctrines are being used to keep their women “under control”. This is not the case in most Christian churches. The feminism on religion who would think that Christianity puts all women down MUST not know who these women are.
Women like Queen Esther. She was a Hebrew woman who was married to king Ahasuerus. She is credited for saving her people, the Persian Jews, for destruction at the hand of her husband. Then there is my personal favorite Jael, who invited the enemy, Sisera, to camp in her place. When her enemy asked for water she gave him milk. She made the enemy trust her. Then one night while Sisera was sleeping Jael snuck into his tent took a hammer and a spike from the tent and drove it into Sisera’s head. She, a lonely woman, defeated Israel’s enemy, and delivered her country when the head leader of the army, a man, could not. There is also Mary. Mary was Jesus mother, the carrier of the man who would deliver millions of people out of Satan’s hands. If it were nor for her being used as a vessel where would we be today. (Some people pray to Mary, but I do not believe that is right, sorry.) And the most memorable heroine of the bible would have to be Deborah. Deborah was a prophetess, military general, and judge. She was the only female judge, and one of the most famous women of the Old Testament.
There are nothing but religious feminists out there, because religious or religion isn’t always Christianity. It can be anything a religion is based on beliefs, and beliefs are not always about God. Feminism can be considered a religion also; it just depends on how you look at it. If you take a harder look, I think that you would also see it that way.
So, the only way a Christian can really be sexist is if he or she doesn’t even read God’s word, because God used men and women, He is not a respecter of persons. So, the way I see it, feminism in religion should be a good thing, because there are just as much women doing great things in the bible as there are men.
