Dressing for work is extremely important. This is because in the working world human beings present a certain image to others and in the professional world of work it is necessary to present an image that is both professional and serious about the job that is and needs to be done. In other words, when people work outside of the home they must have an air of professionalism around them. Dressing in a professional manner on the job is as important as doing a great and professional job everyday on the job. In other words, every aspect of people must be professional when working; this includes dressing, speaking, writing, and on the job performance. Dressing for work doesn’t mean that you have to lose your personality, individuality, or creativity; it just means that you must show all of those elements of yourself while encapsulated in the professional world of work. However, dressing for work, while needing to be and to look professional, also needs to be comfortable. This is because you wear your work clothes for about eight hours a day and sometimes you need to go to dinner or for drinks right from work. Therefore, it is essential to have a professional dress code at work but also a business casual dress code at work.

The business casual dress code does include dresses, blouses, and skirts; it can also include a colorful cardigan that is worn over a white or ivory blouse; or a very colorful cardigan can be worn over a colored shirt.
