I have some personal experience with using the Symantec technical support for Norton Anti-Virus and I can tell you that they are very knowledgeable people and also very helpful. They have the ability to take over your computer remotely if they need to and their service is very complete. Norton Anti-Virus also does a regularly scheduled scan of your computer to detect viruses, spyware, and other issues that may exist on your computer. This function can be customized by the user as far as when the scanning takes place, how often, and what is done during the scan. Norton Anti-Virus also offers you regular scanning of everything coming into, and going out of, your computer.
Norton Anti-Virus can either be purchased separately or as part of Norton Internet Security. Norton Internet Security offers all the functions of Norton Anti-Virus but it also offers some functions unique to using the internet. Norton Internet Security offers a firewall should you feel that you need the added layer of an extra firewall on your computer. It is not a bad idea to have extra protection on your computer. Norton Internet Security also scans all incoming and outgoing emails to look for potential viruses. Norton Internet Security also offers protection against pop up advertising. Norton Internet Security also helps protect against malicious threats that try to attack your computer such as hackers trying to get in on an open port and against any potential of downloading viruses from internet sites. If you plan on surfing the internet then plan on having Norton Internet Security with Norton Anti-Virus. It is a good investment.
