Watch Seven (1995), a movie that proves the aptitude of David Fincher for moody set pieces. Seven is about two detectives played by Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt as his junior partner who track down a serial killer John Doe (Kevin Spacey) who chooses his victims and their deaths according to the seven deadly sins. Most of the people might find it disgusting and gross basing on the first murder that takes place in the movie. The killer feeds the victim for days until his stomach bursts. Although Fincher makes you believe that you saw something even though after you are done watching the movie you realize they did not even show that in the movie it saw just your imagination.
The seven sins shown in this movie are also known as capital vices or cardinal sins. They are Lust (excessive sexual appetites), Gluttony (over-indulgence), Greed (avarice), Sloth (idleness), Wrath (anger), Envy (jealousy) and Pride (vanity). Watch Seven sins being practically implemented by the killer in the movie on each of his victim. In the end the audiences were shocked at its ending. Usually when the killer is caught and dies it eventually opens up all lose ends explaining why he committed such a crime. But in Seven when the detectives catches the Killer, John Doe they shoot him couple of times. Instead of confessing his sins the madman says that he fulfills the last sin that is Envy and this way completes the story that he set out to tell.
Watch Seven that all comes to a great ending when they show the head in a box. Andrew Kevin Walker, the writer of the movie insisted to keep this same ending as it would be the most famous scene that will make people remembers this movie. Fincher was trying to make some changes but star Brad Pitt also insisted on shooting the same ending which they did and it was brilliant. The cast has done a pretty good job and of course the director David Fincher who executed the movie in a way of his own. If you haven’t had the opportunity to watch Seven (1995), do rent it this weekend for a scary, gross movie for all those horror movie fans.
