Warwick Mall, Rhode Island, And Other Historic Places Added: 05/25/2007

Don’t get me wrong, there is a little bit of history when it comes to the Warwick Mall. Rhode Island is pretty much exactly that, an island. But the history that surrounds the area is unbelievable. If you are a shopper then you definitely will want to know more about the Warwick Mall, Rhode Island. It seems the mall hasn’t really been there that long, well it really depends on who you are actually talking to. It was built some where between 1970 and 1972 (haven’t really found the exact date anywhere). What brings in a lot of different people including tourists is the carousel and the historic clock that is still located inside the Warwick Mall. Rhode Island knows how to keep the children and adults entertained even when shopping. There seems to be many stores from department stores to a specialty food store. The Warwick Mall, Rhode Island also has cellular phone stores and an Army National Guard location. The most important thing that seems to bring more insight into the Warwick Mall, Rhode Island, is the fact that this is the only mall within the area that is still privately owned which may results in why it does so well.

All though shopping at the Warwick Mall, Rhode Island is great; finding other things within the area seems to be even better. Take for instance something that is no longer there, the history of the place. That would be the old Rocky Point Amusement Park located in Warwick, Rhode Island. The amusement park which is no longer there was first built in between the 1920’s to the 1930’s and served the best clam chowder around. Unfortunately it was completed destroyed and rebuilt two other times, in both 1938 and 1954 a hurricane came through and wiped everything out. The place was rebuilt both times but now is no longer there. It had for some reason gone up because of bankruptcy, and a local developer, Hugh Fisher, Warwick, Rhode Island, bought the land as to bring more lower to moderate housing for people who work but don’t make all that much compared to some in the area. It seems Hugh Fisher, Warwick, Rhode Island, helped the area when the housing was brought into the area and started the building.

The other historic places which are associated with the Warwick, Rhode Island area are phenomenal and just have to be looked into when visiting the area. There are also some noteworthy people from the area including a Revolutionary War General by the name of Nathaneal Greene and a paranormal investigator by the name of Grant Wilson. There was also James Woods who was an actor and also Walt Mossberg who was a technology editor for the Wall Street Journal. These people alone make for a place to visit and learn more about. There is so much more that can be enjoyed in the area if visiting not only seeing the historic sights.

If you want to do a little something more than just shop and learn the history and depending on what time of year you are going there are tons of different things that can be done. There are also different village centers, parks, beaches, educational facilities, marinas, and also lighthouses which can be visited. Personally, lighthouses are a great thing to see. The job they used to do and the pictures at night that they represent seem to make then an attraction all of there own. There are also different activities that can be done from enjoying yourself with the Warwick, Rhode Island night life or just getting in some athletic or recreational things into the day.

How ever you decide to spend your other time when visiting and shopping at the Warwick Mall. Rhode Island is a great place to just relax and enjoy the view and atmosphere.
