When I first saw Walk the Line, it was in the movie theater. I was never a big Johnny Cash fan, but I am a fan of biography movies. However, when I got done watching the movie I had a new respect for this song writer and the hard times that he went through. I had no idea of all the problems that Johnny Cash had to over come in his life time. The movie starts at the very beginning of his music career. If fact, it starts just before he gets his foot in the door. He was a man with a family going though some hard times. He had a love for music and often wrote songs with his friends outside his house. Of course, he gets a chance to go big and he does. In the movie Walk the Line you get to see other big time artist of the time like Jerry Lee Lewis. I feel like that gives the movie a nice feel. So often when you see biographies of famous artist, they are the only artist in the whole movie. Like they are trying to say that he was the only big singer of that time. In Walk the Line they do a great job showing that Johnny Cash was just one of the big artist of that time. I really enjoyed the whole movie.

The only problem people really had with Walk the Line was how long the movie was. It does seem to go on for a long time. Of course, if you ask me it would have to be a long movie. I mean, it is hard to sum up someones life in two hours. Some times you have to make movies longer, because you need more time to fit everything in. Walk the Line is one of those movies. Johnny Cash had quite a life, and had a lot happen to him over the course of that life. He had to battle drugs and drinking, as well as family problems. This is not just a happy movie, it does a great job at touching on all parts of his life. Of course, with that being said, it does have a lot of parts that will make you smile. This is one of those movies that you are going to want to go out and buy. Also keep in mind that this is not a movie just for the fans of Johnny Cash. I never listen to much of his music (in fact, I had only heard of a few of his songs) but I really enjoyed the movie, and would not mind seeing it again. Of course, anyone that really enjoyed his music or grew up listening to him are really going to find a special place in their heart for this movie. It will bring back a little piece of you that you had long forgotten about.

I really did enjoy Walk the Line. It did not make me want to go out and buy any Johnny Cash music, but it did give me a little more insight to who he is and what he went through during his life. This movie made me see that it is hard to be in the spot light sometimes and we all make some bad choices. That does not make us a bad person and it does not define the type of person we are. The way that we go about overcoming the bad choices we made and what we do to make them right again is what makes us who we are. If any movie can show you that, then it is Walk the Line. This movie is going to hold a spot in your heart no matter who you are. The actors also did a great job of making you feel like you are really there. They make it seem like it is happening right at that moment. Walk the Line is a great movie and a must see. You should go out and rent it tonight if you have not already seen it.
