Buildings included on the site here at the Fort include the Officer's Row, the Guard House, the Enlisted Men's Barracks and the Parade Grounds. You can also find a Visitor's Center and a Museum located in Barracks #1 and Barracks #2. The Fort was first built in 1858 and was used for only a few years until it was abandoned first by the Union Army and then the Confederate Army during the Civil War. It fell into disrepair afterwards but has since been meticulously restored.
