Veterinarians Should Examine Your Pet Before A TripIf your thinking about taking a trip with your pet, you should have veterinarians examine your pet before you leave. Weather your going by plane or car your pet needs to be in good health before you leave, because traveling can be very taxing or your pets health. If you take the right measurements before going you can have a safe trip for you and your pet. Traveling can be fun and enjoyable for both your animal and you. I should also bring up the fact that you will feel better with your pet by your side and they will feel better not being left alone while your gone.
When traveling by car, be sure to bring plenty of plastic bags to clean up after your pet. We want to be able to respect others by cleaning up your pets droppings. Do not forget to stop every once in a while to allow your pet to use the bathroom and have a chance to walk around. Just like humans, pets can get stiff if they are setting or laying down for a long period of time. It may be a good idea to keep your pets food and water readily available. If your pet gets stress it will tend to need more water. Watch to see how much water your pet is drinking and adjust your bathroom stops as needed. Nothing can turn a great vacation bad faster then an animal using the bathroom in the car. It may be a good idea to keep your pet inside its travel case when traveling in the car. You don't want your pet jumping all over the car while your trying to driving. That could end in the worst vacation ever. Some people even give their pets a small drug made for animals to help them sleep during the trip, but if you can get by without using those on your pet, I feel that is the way to do go.
Call ahead of your trip to the hotel you will be staying with to make sure they allow pets. Its always a good idea to double check. Nothing would be worse to drive all the way out of town and get to your hotel only to find out that they wont allow animals to stay their. Better to be safe then sorry I always say. Staying in a new place can be stressful on most animals. Veterinarians say that you should bring along your pets toys, blankets, and anything else that may make them feel more like they do when their at home. As you can see our pets are just like us and need things to help them relax just like we do.
It may seem like more work to bring your animal with you on a trip, but it can be more enjoyable for you and your pet if you allow them to come with you on the trip. Veterinarians say that it causes less stress on an animal to bring it with you on a trip then to leave it behind. Animals are very attached to their owners and want to be with them as much as they can. So its easy to see how it could be more stress to leave an animal behind then to just take it with you. Leaving them behind to much can cause angry levels to build in your pet veterinarians say. Take just a little extra time to prepare to bring your animal and you will have a more enjoyable trip together. After all, they say a pet is a mans best friend. Don't you think you should return that same love by keeping them by your side if thats were they want to be. So the next time you plan on booking a vacation, maybe think about bring your pet along for the trip.
