Vegetarian singles who are interested in dating have a particularly difficult decision to make. While it is never easy for anyone to select a suitable romantic partner, the vegetarian single has a unique quandary that can be very difficult to solve. Vegetarian singles must decide if they are willing to date people who eat meat, or if they are only interested in vegetarian dating.
Vegetarian singles who choose to date other people who do not pursue a vegetarian or vegan diet run a lot of risks. Many vegetarian singles find it disgusting or repulsive to watch people eat meat, and sitting across the dinner table from a romantic partner who indulges in a behavior that you find disgusting or repulsive is sure to put a damper on your relationship. In fact, many vegetarian singles refuse to dine with their meat eating partners because the image of a loved one chowing down on a hamburger is too distressing and upsetting. Dating meat eaters can be very stressful for vegetarian singles, especially if the vegetarian is very sensitive to imagery of people eating or cooking meat.
On the other hand, many vegetarian singles are happy to date meat eaters and do not have any problem kissing someone who has just had a meal of fried chicken. No two vegetarian singles are alike, and how much vegetarian singles are bothered or not bothered by watching a partner eat meat depends on many factors. Vegetarian singles who are vegetarians for health reasons usually do not have an aversion to meat or meat eaters, but still exclude the consumption of animal products from their own personal diet. Vegetarian singles who do not eat meat for moral reasons often have more of a problem watching a romantic partner eat meat, as they see the practice as fundamentally unethical.
With all of the pitfalls that vegetarian singles often find when dating meat eaters, it is little wonder than many vegetarians wish to date other vegetarians exclusively. The world of vegetarian dating has its own problems, though. Although vegetarian singles who only date other vegetarian singles have the advantage of being able to comfortably shop for groceries together, cook together, and eat together, they have plenty of other issues to contend with. Perhaps the worst part of being one of the many vegetarian singles who is seeking a romantic partner who is also a vegetarian is that having an unshakable criterion for their future mate limits their dating pool substantially. Vegetarian singles who are only willing to date other vegetarian singles run the risk of excluding their perfect mate from their dating pool on the sole grounds that this otherwise ideal romantic partner enjoys the occasional bowl of beef stew.
If you are one of the many vegetarian singles facing the dilemma of whether or not to date people who eat meat, you will want to consider your choice very carefully. After all, any romantic partner that you find is sure to require some kind of sacrifice or compromise, so you may want to weigh the possibility of a partner who eats meat against some other flaws before you decide for sure that you only want to date vegetarians.
