Vacationing At Virginia Beach

It&'s so beautiful. There's so much to do. Virginia Beach is for lovers, families, and even spring break. There is a seemingly endless list of possibilities for things to do in Virginia Beach. Even if you're not a high roller, you can find a place to stay. Virginia Beach offers cottages for those with a low budget all the way up to fancy condos for those with a "Sky's the limit" budget.

Virginia Beach has something for everyone. It was made for vacations catering to just about anyone from any “walk of life.” There are amusement parks for the thrill seekers, canoes, kayaks, wave runners, jet skis, banana boats and parasailing for the adventurous outdoors types, fishing, golfing, surfing, volleyball, swimming, snorkeling and diving, even in-line skating and fantasy miniature golf for the younger generation. Virginia Beach offers miles of beach for any activity one could possibly think of.

The shopping is also plentiful. Along Atlantic Avenue you’ll find a variety of shops and several surfshops specializing in swimsuits and other beach necessities. From 31st Street to Hilltop on Laskin Road there are many strip malls full of specialty shops, even Kmart, Office Max, Barnes And Noble, Big Lots and Kinkos just to name a few. Lynnhaven Mall anchored by Dillards and Hecht is a shopper’s paradise and even has an 18 theatre movie house.

That’s just mostly the day activities. Night time in Virginia Beach is always happenin’ on Beach Street USA where dozens of street performers dazzle with their amazing talents. Stages are set up all along the boardwalk offering nightly entertainment of all varieties every night during the summer and even on most weekends in the Spring and Fall. There are also traditional parks scattered along the beach areas for energized pint-sized vacationers.

If that’s not enough, or you’re ready to get away from the surf and sand for awhile, laugh yourself silly during a hilarious act at one of the comedy clubs, get dressed up and go dancing or take in a live performance at one of the theatres or concert halls.

Choices for dining out in Virginia Beach are almost endless. Japanese cuisine, fondue houses, Mongolian barbeque, Italian, fresh seafood of course, and just about everything in between. You don’t even have to leave the ocean as there are many vendors conveniently located all along the beach selling a plethora of goodies.

Virginia Beach is famous for its Neptune Festival featuring arts, crafts, shows and the fabulous sand castle competition. If sand castles aren’t your thing you can plan your vacation to attend the Atlantic Coast Kite Festival, the Chess Festival or soak up the rays while watching the National Surfing Championships. Virginia Beach is also known for its Annual Auto Show.

If you fall in love with Virginia Beach and just don’t want to leave there is a smorgasbord of fine real estate Virginia Beach and taxes are fairly reasonable at ninety-nine cents per hundred dollars, $1.05 per $100 in the esteemed Sandbridge District. Maybe you’d like to try your business acumen out in one of the shops along the boardwalk where taxes are only $1.56 per $100 in the business district.
