In Saguaro National Park lies the giant Saguaro cactus. This unique plant also known as the "monarch of the Sonoran Desert" can appear to take the form of human begins. It only grows in the Sonoran Desert and provides shelter for many bird species. These slow growing plants can live between 175 - 200 years and can grow as tall as 50 feet. Yet, they begin life as black, tiny seeds no bigger than pinheads.
