Ukkasiksalik, located in one of the most remote and northern parts of the world, became Canada's 41st designated national park in August of 2003. The park currently has no human dwellers, however, Inuits from the community of Kivalliq are allowed within the park to sustenance hunt and fish. The warmest month of the year is July, which is when the ice on the Hudson Bay finally melts.
