Things to Do In Copper Mountain Lodging, Restaurants, and More!If you like vacationing in beautiful Colorado, then you have probably heard of Copper Mountain; lodging is a pleasure in this mountain oasis, and restaurants and activities are geared to the visitor as well as the native born Coloradans who like to do some in-state traveling as well. There are so many activities awaiting you in Copper Mountain that it might be hard for you to choose!
Quite possibly its claim to fame are the natural divisions that have occurred in the ski country, which now naturally lend themselves to have beginners, intermediate skier, and experts all on different runs, without there being any danger of a beginner accidentally stumbling into the way of an expert snowboarder. On Copper Mountain, Colorado beginning skiers will find their slopes on the western side of the terrain. There are a lot of runs to help a beginner hone her or his skills, and eventually graduate to the intermediate runs. These intermediate runs are located in the center of the mountain and are a wonderful compromise between the easy runs on the western side of the mountain and the expert runs which are on the eastern side. Double black diamond runs are sure to challenge even the most advanced skier or snowboarder, and it is not surprising that many conversations overheard in Copper Mountain lodging establishment very often talk about the latest and greatest feats performed on those runs. If you do not feel quite up to the challenge of the double black diamond runs, you do have the options of four expert only bowl runs. They are named Spaulding Bowl, Resolution Bowl, Union Bowl, and of course Copper Bowl.
Copper Mountain lodging as well as several wonderful restaurants may be found in the villages. Just like the mountain is divided, so is the Copper Mountain lodging facilities. You will find an East Village, a western village named Union Creek, and the main village which is referred to as The Village at Copper, or sometimes Copper or The Village for short. All three villages are connected and operated by the owner of the ski resort, a company named Intrawest. They are responsible for adding more Copper Mountain lodging facilities that will not stand out in the mountainous terrain but instead blend in with the already existing lodges and cabins, restaurants that complement the already existing venues, as well as whimsical shops which many a vacationing Colorado native or visitor to the state simply will not want to miss. These shops provide a wonderful outlet for local artisans, such as jewelry makers and silver smiths, painters, and also sculptors.
While construction is rarely a welcome sight in the ski resort towns of Colorado, Intrawest has managed to contain as much of the construction as possible and you will not feel like you are vacationing right next to a giant hole in the ground. The three villages will welcome you in the winter as well as in the summer, and the many restaurants will be a welcome place to spend an evening by the fire place and eat a hearty meal.
