On April 22nd of this year, the writer of this article got a most wonderful birthday present. On that day, this writer heard that she had become a grandmother. Since that day, this writer has provided much childcare assistance to the new parents. While providing that childcare assistance, this writer has noticed that her new granddaughter seems to have a personality much like her own.
This writer first noticed that her new granddaughter would not cry as soon as she woke up. She would play happily by herself for a while. The writer could recall playing contentedly by herself as a child. That was her first clue that her new granddaughter had the same characteristics as she did. That was her first clue that those born under the same zodiac sign may indeed share common personality traits.
As this writer cooperated with her husband to provide the new parents with childcare assistance, she noted other traits that she shared with her granddaughter. Since both had been born under the sign of Taurus, both might be thought of as “bullish.” This writer noticed that her granddaughter usually tolerated the behavior of others, but when she objected to a situation, then she let that be known. Her granddaughter did not hesitate to communicate her desires to others.
This writer has seen her granddaughter mimic hand movements that go with a game she likes. Her granddaughter has also found it effective to lift her tiny foot, in order to request a rendition about the “little piggies going to market.”
Because her granddaughter is still less than a year old, this writer has not had much chance to do a lot of child training. Sometimes at night though, those who must help with childcare assistance, need to train a small child how to relax and go to sleep. That has become a formidable task for this writer and her husband. In fact, it has demonstrated why this writer and her husband had such poor luck creating a bedtime for their own two sons.
Still this writer looks forward to further situations that could demand her ability to provide childcare training. She has already visited the bookstores and has examined the available books for babies. She is trying to find one that will work well for readers of three different languages. That is because this writer’s granddaughter has enjoyed the bounty of hearing three different languages.
This writer did find one book that she liked a great deal It was a book with about a half-dozen “baby words.” While this writer has not yet purchased that book, she has started to use those words while providing childcare assistance. Just last night she repeated the words “nighty-night” in a determined effort to get her granddaughter to go to sleep.
