There Are Many Opinions About Home School But The Decision Is Yours To Make.

Every person has a different opinion about home school and every parent has different reasons for homeschooling their child. It is amazing how many famous and genius individuals received their education at home. Homeschooling is not for everyone. Before considering educating your child in your home, there are many things you may wish to consider. A major question you need to ask yourself is "Why do I feel my child will be better off under my educational guidance?"

Various sources are in opposition to home school studies including organizations of teachers and school districts. Opposition tends to fall into several broad categories, including: academic quality and completeness; reduced government money for the public schools; lack of socialization of children with peers; and fear of social or religious extremism. Some view parents who home school their children as sheltering them and denying them social and learning opportunities that are their children's right.


There are many famous individuals who received their education in a home school for at least a portion of their lives. Among these people are Margaret Mead, Gloria Steinmen, Alan Alda and Frank Lloyd Wright. Even the father of modern chemistry, Joseph Priestley had to be home schooled for part of his life. Not every child who is home schooled is going to become famous. However home schooled children have as much chance to succeed as any other child. Some children just require different methods of teaching in order to learn.


There are many reasons a parent may feel that their child should not attend a public school. No matter what your reasons to home school your child is you must be very knowledgeable about the needs of your child. Every child learns in a different way. Many children can learn in the classroom without much difficulty. However some children need extra care and attention in order to learn. By choosing to home school your child you have the opportunity to provide your child with all the special attention and extra time they need. Every child is unique and by knowing and evaluating how you child learns best you can determine what resources and home school books you will need to have.
For homeschooling to be successful you have to first understand what needs your child has. Every child has special needs. Take Albert Einstein as an example. Albert Einstein had to attend a special needs school due to his inability to learn in the same manner as the majority of children and he is considered a genius.


In many cases the reason for choosing to home school a child has more to do with a family’s religious or moral beliefs. For example this is the case with many Amish families. Many families wish to use a manner of homeschooling Christian focused. If this is the case only you and your church can really determine what is the best means for educating your child. It is important to make sure your child receives a well-rounded education. If you reasons for home school are religious based there are numerous resources available to you through the Internet and local church organizations.


If you do feel that you are qualified to home school your child then you need to determine what type of teaching technique or combination of techniques you would be best for your child. Though it is not entirely necessary to study learning theories before beginning it can be very useful. There are parents who may not need to study these techniques simply because they are very in-tune to how their child processes information. One very good way to learn what approaches will work best with your child is by spending time with them after school working on their homework and going over in-class assignments. By doing this you can learn through trial and error what works best for your child. However by studying various learning theories and teaching techniques you will be even more prepared to assist your child. Not only will you have a greater grasp on what you already know about your child’s needs these sources can also provide you with great ideas on how to conduct lessons designed for your child’s needs.
