Do you like movies that are biographies? Well if you said yes, then you have to watch the 2002 hit film The Pianist, which is about a Jewish Polish musician by the name of Wladyslaw Szpilman. This movie (The Pianist) is based on a adaptation of the autobiography of the same name, and that is what makes this film so grand. Of course, I am not the only one who thinks this movie is great; because it did win many awards, and any movie that wins that many awards has to be doing something right. The Pianist is a movie you have to see.
The 2002 hit film The Pianist was just that, a hit. This movie was not only loved by the people who were involved in the project it was also loved by the people who saw it. This movie also had one of the best soundtracks of any movie I have ever seen, and with a name like The Pianist you would not expect anything less from this film. I am a person that does like to learn about the lives of other people, and this movie did a great job telling about the life of Jewish Polish musician Wladyslaw Szpilman. Of course, this movie was base on his autobiography by the same name (The Pianist). This is one of those movies that is going to give you insight into something that you may or may not of already know something about. Unless you read the autobiography yourself this movie is going to teach you something about the pianist that you did not know. This is a movie that not only had a great plot (I mean, nothing is more real than real life), and it had a great cast as well. This is a movie that you are going to want to have in your DVD collection because you will want to see it more than once.

The Pianist did win many awards including three from the Academy Awards, which we all know it is hard to get just one award from there, but to get three is amazing. The Pianist did win the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, it also won a hand full of Oscars. When I say handful of awards I mean more than one (try more like three). The Pianist won the Oscar for Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Actor. However, The Pianist did not stop there it also won seven French Cesars. Of those French Cesars some of the ones it won were Best Picture and Best Actor. One thing you may notice is that this movie won best actor more than once. So really that should tell you something, and that something is this movie had great actors hands down. Let's face it, a movie is only as good as the actors that are in it. I feel like this is a great movie, and anyone that has not seen it is already missing out. After all, this movie has been out since 2002 and has won so many awards. If you have not seen this movie yet you should run out tonight and go get it, you really do need to see it.

The Pianist is one of those movies that you will not forget and for good reasons. This movie won so many awards, but until you see it you really can not understand why it got these. After you see the artwork and acting skills that went into this movie, you will get drawn into the film. Of course, when you are making a film, that is what you want. You want a movie that is going to become one with you and bring you something that you have never seen before. If you can go to a movie and leave with something that is going to stay with you, then you have found a movie that is a classic. That is what movies are suppose to do, and not to many can do it. However, this is not the case with The Pianist, this is a movie that you will think about every time you think of a great movie. I hope, if you have not already, get a chance to see this movie, it really is worth all the awards it won.
