Now we all know the saying from the Godfather films "I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse." We all loved that film and it gave people an insight into the feared world of the Mafia. The games industry has tried to do the same with Mafia games. Most notably is the Mafia game PC, which received many good reviews during it's release and enjoyed good sales figures.
The Mafia are still around even today and are hiding themselves from the sunlight as to not draw any attention on to their underground organisations. In today's world the FBI and many other federal agents would be all over them once they had sniffed them out.
The Mafia games are once again being produced. This time the Mafia games are coming out on the Xbox and PS2. The Mafia game will focus on the Mafia game PC version. Being almost a straight port over from the Mafia game, which sold very well on the PC.
In 1986 the American Federal Authorities estimated that the Mafia Families across America included 1,700 so called "made" members and thousands of associates. The American Mafia draws its membership from those who have either Italian or Sicilian backgrounds. The Mafia games have tried to pick this up like many movies by adding Italian voices or actors into the games and trying to reinvent the scene of the 1920's. The Mafia games will also receive a warm welcome from people who want to experience the feel and the nastiness of the Mafia without having to actually go out there and get their hands dirty. That is what the Mafia game allows you to do all from the comfort of your PC. I mean, who hasn't fantasized about being part of the Mafia, the idea of having all that power and influence can be very appealing. Of course not many people will get the chance to be part of the Mafia, maybe the everyday shootings and the long trips to prison may seem to put people off that idea. But sale stats reveal that many people still enjoy the idea of being that "Mafia boy".
The guys from Illusion Softworks (the company who made the game) must have had that idea in their minds when making the game, thinking how great it would be to immerse a player into a Mafia world.
There are a few entertainment parties that let you be part of a little mafia game. Although they have been more described, as team-building games were every Mafia family in town has been called to a meeting because of the recent bloodshed. Every guest is a member of one of the Mafia families working for that families particular undercover interests. Such as one family member will control the casinos and another will control the cops. After a little play around with the casino there will be an assassination during the meal. An FBI agent will take control of the case and then the game begins.
To get the highest amount of money and win the game you can use many forms of wheeling and dealing, such as fraud, deception and blackmail. Greasing people up to the press and the FBI is also allowed in this team-building game. Hardly the best way to make new friends at work, but it seems like a very enjoyable night for everyone. Welcome to the great Mafia world!
