The Little Rock Single Scene: Dating Little Rock StyleOne of the complaints this girl about town hears from her newly arrived friends is the daunting task of breaking into the Little Rock single scene. Out of town visitors, newly arrived, or newly single folks all face the same obstacles that other singles face in other cities. I've lived in many large cities and I can attest that dating Little Rock style is no different than any other place. I'm your arm chair guide to the hot spots, cool treats, and unique approaches to the single scene as well as dishing out some pointers for you 'would be' guys and gals.
So you're single, I hope...and not merely a married individual out looking for a cheap thrill, and your tired of lounging around the house in tattered sweats and t-shirts. What's a single person to do? Well let's take a look at the many options offered by the Little Rock single scene.
Option One: The Club Scene
Little Rock single guys and gals have many club options ranging from the mild to the wild. One place known through out the area for its throngs of men and women is The Electric Cowboy located off of Interstate 30. Does the name sound familiar? Well it should...it is a chain of clubs found from Tennessee to Texas. Who wouldn't want to get a ¢75 long-neck bottle of beer or a well drink and then ride the mechanical bull? Friday nights are packed with tons of guys and girls. One turn you down? Honey, move on to the next, the sheer amount and variety means that there is someone for everybody.
Just to cover all of the bases, The Factory, The Aquarium and Discovery all offer a chance for gay guys, lesbian women or those just not for sure which way they swing, to meet the guy, girl or both of their dreams. The places are the hippest with tons of great drinks, fabulous shows and loads of people shaking their stuff on the dance floor. Make sure and check out the shows!
Option Two: The Laid Back Bar Scene
Only one place stands out in my mind for an incredibly laid back time and that is The West End located in West Little Rock. Giant televisions broadcasting out the game, great food, great staff...dating Little Rock guys and gals make this the hot spot for the truly hip single. It is a great place to meet someone other than a club crawler. Professionals throughout Little Rock make this their after work pit stop. Make sure and order the cheese fries. They are killer!
No single hunt is complete without a trip down to the Rivermarket area. Located right on the Arkansas river on President Clinton Avenue, this street is home to Underground Pub, Sticky Fingerz Rock 'n Roll Chicken Shack, Flying Saucer and many more. Little Rock single folks don't settle for one, they browse the entire street searching for Mr. Or Miss Right.
Hey, don't just take my word for it, dating Little Rock residents know that the best place to find the address, specials and events is the internet. Search for any of the above bars and you'll turn up plenty to do. Little Rock single men and women... ome on and find that special someone. The hardest part is finding the right place to meet those other single people. This girl about town knows the spots and will gladly fill you in. Get out and about and I'll see you around.
