Every one of us is familiar with Beverly Hills - the home to the rich and the famous. The city probably gained its undaunted popularity during the popular show Beverly hills-90210.
Only a few minutes drive from downtown Holly wood the city of Beverly Hills has all the glitterati and enchantment that one can expect. Today other than the elite Beverly Hills caters to the jobs of thousands living in Southern California.
Beverly Hills was rich and fertile long before our movie barons made it their home. Its fertile land is the cohesive force of three different canyons-Franklin, Coldwater and Benedict. When rains from the southern Californian sky collects on the hills they cascade down to form streams between Beverly Drive and Sunset Boulevard.
Before the Spanish explorers set their foot in this region the Native Americans-Tongva or the Gabrielinos called this site as the EL rodeo de las Aguas.
After the II World War Beverly Hills blossomed and it became the most likeable spot for leisure where people came to splurge money.
During the early 20th century Burton Green along with architect Wilbur D. Cook City’s first streets encircling the hills-Rodeo, Canon, Carmelita, Elevado and Lomitas. Cook also created a three block long greensward for this golden city and named it Santa Monica Park.
This development was further accelerated by the construction of Beverly Hills Hotel in the year 1912 which ushered the dazzling world of stars like Gloria Swanson, Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd and John Barrymore to settle down and build sprawling mansions in Beverly Hills.

This show held at the Beverly Hills Park exhibits art forms by artists from all over US in photography, sculpture, painting, ceramics jewelry, graphics and prints. Held in May and October this show has gained its popularity since 1973.

Music lovers can have a great time at the cozy setting of historic Grey stone Mansion.
Concerts begin at 1:30 pm followed by a light reception on the first floor.
Hiking in Franklin Canyon-
For nature lovers and adventurers there is a 605 acres outdoor spot just next to Beverly Hills with hiking trails, wild life ponds, a lake and chaparral covered meadows where one can relax and wander a little.
