In her late teens, Demi quit high school and moved to Europe. It was there that she began to model and to work as a collection agent. When she turned eighteen, her father killed himself and that same year she married Freddy Moore who was a rock star, twelve years older than her. The marriage lasted a very short time; however it was the stepping stone that brought Demi to Hollywood. During the marriage to Mr. Moore, she lived in California next to actress Nastassja Kinski who motivated Demi to pursue acting.
And so it all began; Demi Moore first appeared to us on the very popular day time soap opera General Hospital. She also starred in a few unknown movies but when she came on screen in St. Elmo’s fire she showed the world that she was on the same level as Hollywood’s most popular young actors. She became part of the Brat Pack, as it was called, and stood side by side other actors of the time such as Emilio Estevez, Allie Sheen, and Keifer Sutherland. The year was 1984 and Demi was riding on a cloud from her popularity however just as many actors fall into the trap of drugs, so did Demi. She fought a cocaine addiction and overcame it.
The 1980’s were a very busy and exciting time for Demi and this is the decade that she really made her mark on Hollywood. She was engaged to marry former co-star Emilio Estevez but ultimately married actor Bruce Willis. However it was the movie she made with Patrick Swayze that brought her to the highest fame so far: Ghost jumped to the top of the box office and people and critics alike applauded her acting in the 1990 romantic movie. This brought Demi to a new level of fame, one in which she was given roles opposite such top actors as Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise, Woody Harrelson and Michael Douglas. She starred in A Few Good Men, Indecent Proposal and Disclosure.
Demi then starred in a few movies that brought little excitement to the critics; however her Striptease movie brought excitement to her fans. After playing a stripper in the controversial movie, Demi rose to the top of well paid actresses, now commanding 12.5 million dollars a movie. Taking a break for a while, Demi came back with G.I. Jane, an army movie in which she shaved her head for the role.
Her acting career was going along well; however her marriage began to suffer. She separated from Bruce Willis; the couple had three children by that time. Demi took three years off from acting and concentrated on raising her children while rumors swirled that she was going to married a karate instructor. Demi appeared back in Hollywood and shocked the world with her amazing body in Charlie’s Angels. She was in her 40’s and looked firmer, toner and sexier than ever before. She shocked the world when she married a much younger actor Ashton Kutcher, who is known for his role in That Seventies Show and his Punk’d series in which he plays elaborate schemes on unsuspecting friends and fellow actors.
