Liberal feminism attempts to prove the unfairness of the sexes and push for equality of men and women through political reform. Liberal feminism focuses on a woman’s ability to show and maintain their equality through their own actions and choices and they feel it is an individual responsibility to fight for her rights. Liberal feminism focuses on the personal interactions of men and women as the beginning aspect from which to change society into a place in which men and women are completely equal. According to liberal feminists, all women have it within them to show their capability to obtain equality. They feel it is one hundred percent possible for change to happen and that it can be done without changing the structure of society as we know it. liberal feminists focus on the rights of reproductive and abortion sexual harassment, voting and education.
Radical feminists believe that women can free themselves only when they have halted what they consider an widely oppressed society and system of domination against women. Radical feminists focus on the aspect that they believe the authority of men and the structure of control are responsible for oppression and inequality that women suffer. They feel that as long as the system and its values are in place, the world will not be capable to change in any vital way.
Socialist feminism issue defines feminism as the oppression of women in regard to exploitation, oppression and labor issues. Socialist feminists believe women are oppressed as a result of their unequal status in the workplace and at home. Prostitution, domestic work, childcare, and marriage are all seen as ways in which women are exploited by an unfair system which takes away the value of a woman and the important work they are capable of performing. Socialist feminists focus on bringing about worldwide change that would affect the entire population, and not just on an individual basis. They define feminsm as needing to work along with men and all groups to end the oppresion of women.
No matter how one defines feminism,the feminism issue will always remain and ultimately the goal is the same for all organizations: to live in a world where each and every woman is treated equal to men and never need suffer oppression and unfair and sometimes brutal conditions. In a world where some countries kill women who have sex outside of marriage and stone women to death with their family’s approval, the feminism issue will always remain and will have organizations to press ahead.
