The Danger Of Exploit Software

Millions of people every year buy a computer to gain access to the internet. This is a good thing because the internet it filled with lots of information that can be used to better our lives. Of course, with the use of such a great power (like the internet) there is always a downfall. When speaking of the internet, this downfall would be malicious software (also know as malware). One of the worse types of malware programs out there is exploit software. The danger of exploit software is great, and is something we have to be on the look out for.
When people talk of exploit software, they are talking about a program (either made as a chunk of data, software, or sequence of commands) that can take over your computer by finding its weakness. Every computer, at some point in time, has a weakness. By this I mean that all computers at some point in time will get a bug, glitch, or another type of vulnerability that makes it easy for exploit software to get in. So what is the real danger when speaking of exploit software. If your computer has a vulnerability that the exploit software finds, then it will come in and take control of your system. Once it has control of your your operating system, it can open the door for a lot more bad stuff to happen. First of all, it can open a back door for hackers to come in and take over your whole computer. By doing this they can take your computer information, connect to the internet through you, and even steal any personal information that you may have on your computer (such as your address, phone numbers, or even tax information). As you can see the danger of exploit software is a great one.

The good news is that most exploit software can only take advantage of a specific vulnerability in your operating system. The danger of exploit software is still there, but it is much easier to fix if it is limited to one specific vulnerability. If your operating system does have a vulnerability, most of the time it can be fixed with a patch. A patch is a code that is added to your operating system that fills in wholes that may have been missed when the system first came out. So in a nut shell, a patch is just a quick fix to a small vulnerability in your system. Of course, the term patch can also be used when talking about video games, software, and other programs. It does not just refer to operating systems. If you have a windows operating system, then Microsoft will send you patches in the form of up dates for your computer. Just like your virus protection system, it is good to always keep your programs up to date. This goes for any type of software or program you use. If you do not follow these helpful tips, then you are leaving yourself open for the danger of exploit software to come in and take control over your whole system. Believe me when I say that you do not want a hacker to have a back door into your computer. If you do not want your information to fall into the wrong hands, then keep your stuff up to date.

The good news is that the danger of exploit software is not as great as other malware programs. This is because the top hackers usually do not share their exploit software with other hackers. This means that there is less exploit software out there than other viruses. This is because the big time hackers do not want the wanna-be hackers to take credit for their software. Hackers that do that are usually nicknamed script kiddies because they are like the little kids of hackers, trying to take other peoples hard earn work. Of course, I think the whole thing is funny, because the big time hackers are using their software to take information for other people. So in a way, they are no different then the script kiddies that they hate so much. Either way you look at it, just keep your computer up to date, and you should have nothing to worry about.
