The cultural feminist is using the very fundamentals that started the human race. The principles that said the man would bring home the food and keep the family safe at night from predators. There are many single women taking care of their families and maintaining a safe place to live. They also bring home food to place on the table for the family to eat. This is a shade different than it was, say, fifty years ago.
Times are changing and the cultural feminist has changed right along with them. The cultural feminist is demanding equal rights and equal pay. Men no longer make the biggest salaries. There are some women who do a better job and still get paid less. These women have learned to stand up and fight for their equal rights. Women are proving everyday that they can do the same work as most men and deserve to be paid the same or even more.
The cultural feminist has many role models to look up to in this ongoing process. The first was Lynda Carter in her role as Wonder Woman. A strong woman in a man's world, she showed that women can achieve their own glory without showboating or being snotty. Charlie's Angels brought us three strong women that solved crimes and enjoyed a camaraderie between themselves.
Moving ahead to the present, a good example here is that of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. She was the chosen one and did her job so that no one else would suffer the consequences of the vampires. Even the men on the show could not keep up with her. Also, in today's politics, Hilliary Clinton is running for President of the United States. That is a true example of a cultural feminist taking on the men saying that it can be done by a woman even better.
There are some cultural feminists that believe that they are the only ones who should get equality because they are the ones who fought for it first. If they are going to be leaders of any sort for the rest of he women, they need to learn that equality means just that. Equality means everyone, not just a select few. Some do not like the idea of having to go back and get the ones that weren't ready to push forward with the rest of the feminists. If the women have good role models and strong leaders, there should not be any goal they cannot aspire to achieve. All it takes is one sometimes to go to the head of the pack and tell the rest of the women that they can do what they want to do in life. It just takes some planning and arranging of life plans and goals.
Sharing with her sister women gives the cultural feminist a way to look back and see where she has been and what she has accomplished. Without her pride in being able to help out her fellow women, some of the these feminists would not have the drive or desire to begin their journey for equality and respect.
