The Color Purple, A Great Steven Spielberg Film

In you are looking for one of the best films that Steven Spielberg has ever directed, then you need to rent the 1985 movie The Color Purple. The film itself is based on a novel that was written by Alice Walker and the novel is also called The Color Purple. This is a movie that covers a lot of different issues that African American women went through during the very early 1900's. The Color Purple touches on the issues of racism, poverty, and even sexual abuse. The story is great, but the actors and actresses in the movie are what make this film really shine.
The Color Purple is like no movie that you have ever seen before. If you have read the book by the same name, then you know what this movie is about. The movie is about an African American girl named Celie, and all the hardships she faces over the course of her life. Of course, the storyline is one of the things that makes the movie, The Color Purple, so great, but the actors are what makes the movie shine. The Color Purple stars Danny Glover, Oprah Winfrey, and Whoopi Goldberg. I have never seen a movie like this in all my life, and it made be see how hard it use to be for African American girls, and all the things that they had to deal with. The movie follows Celie as she grows and transforms herself from a terrified women into a strong person. The movie covers many issues that she had to face, and it will really make you stop and think what life would have been like way back then. Of course, if you watch the movie and like it, then you are going to want to read the book as well. Although the movie is great, you cannot beat what a great book it was and how much more into detail it went into. This is one of those films that you will never forget, and I think you are going to want to add it to your DVD collection. The Color Purple, to me, is an America classic film, and a well done one at that. You should have no problem finding this movie at your local video store because it is an older classic.

The Color Purple takes place in the early 1900's in the southern United States of America. The story follows the life of a poor African American girl name Celie who is played by Whoopi Goldberg. When she was younger, her father would abuse her sexually. By the time she was fourteen she had already had two children by her father. However, her father takes the children away from her, and makes her marry a man named Albert Johnson, who is played by Danny Glover. So Celie marries Albert, but he has his eyes on her younger sister named Nettie. During the movie, The Color Purple, Albert treats Celie like a slave. However, things get better for a little while when Nettie comes to stay with Albert and Celie. Of course, things do not last, and after Nettie refuse to make love to Albert too many times, he kicks her out of the house. The Color Purple has a lot more things that happen in it over the course of the movie, but I will not give anymore away. You should know that The Color Purple is like no movie that I have ever seen, and is going to draw you into it like no other movie can. Steven Spielberg does a great job directing the movie, and I feel that he brings something to the movie that you would not get from another director. The Color Purple is one of the best movies I have ever seen.

If you are looking for an American classic film, then you should look no further than the movie, The Color Purple. Although this movie was made back in 1985, you can tell what high quality went into making this movie. Sometimes I feel like movies that are made today do not have the quality that some of the older movies have. There is no movie like The Color Purple, but if you think the movie is good, then you should read the book. The book brings out some of the great points that the movie just could not. Whenever you are reading the book you get a whole different story that lies within the story that you had just seen. That is just how detailed books can be.
