The novels for The Chronicles of Narnia were written by a person named C.S. Lewis. There have been movies in the past that have been done for The Chronicles of Narnia, but none of them are as popular, or made as much money as the one done by Disney. The Chronicles of Narnia that came out in 2005, is a fantasy based film that was directed by Andrew Adamson, who also helped write the screenplay. The movie, The Chronicles of Narnia, is about four British children that have to go stay in the countryside. They are bored out of there minds, and then one day they choose to play hide and go seek. This is when the children come across a magical wardrobe that happens to be the doorway to another fantasy world. As you may have guessed, this world is called the land of Narnia. When they get to this land, they find a war being fought, good vs evil. A lion they meet, Aslan, is the leader of good, and the White Witch is the queen of the evil side. The Chronicles of Narnia is full of great special effects that are seen throughout the whole movie. The landscape and the battle scenes are amazing, and will pull you right out of your seat and into the battle. However, do keep in mind that this is a Disney movie, and even though there is an epic battle, you will see no blood or gore of any kind. In fact, at one point a man gets stabbed in the stomach, and when they pull out the sword there is no blood on the man or the sword. Either way this is still one of the greatest movies I have ever seen by Disney.

Of course, the movie was not just a big hit with fans of the book, it was a big hit with everyone. In fact, you can see this in the amount of sales that the movie brought in. In fact, The Chronicles of Narnia, when it came out on DVD, was the best selling DVD in North America in 2006. However, the movie did not just do good on DVD, it did very good in the box office as well. The Chronicles of Narnia brought in over 65 million dollars, just in its opening weekend. That makes it the 24th best opening for a movie of all time. When all is said and done, The Chronicles of Narnia made over 744 million dollars world wide. In fact, it surpassed the gross of the famous Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie in the United States by 1 million dollars. As you can clearly see, this is a movie that a lot of people cared about seeing. After so many people had great things to say about the movie, more and more people went to see. After so many people went to see it (and loved it by the way), they had to get it on DVD when it came out. When you have a movie that has that big of a cult following, you can bet that it is going to be a blockbuster, and The Chronicles of Narnia was just that.

This is a movie that your whole family can watch together. If you have already seen a movie that had been done of The Chronicles of Narnia, then you will know what they story is about. However, this movie takes it one step further than all the other movies that were made of it. This movie shows the whole story in a new light. Even if you have already seen a movie like this, you need to go out and rent this one as well. You will not be upset that you chose to see this movie, and The Chronicles of Narnia is going to be a movie that you add to your DVD collection.
