Angelina Jolie Voight was born on June 4, 1975 to world famous and Academy Award winning actor Jon Voight. It was no secret that early in her life Angelina Jolie expressed a desire to be an actress and in the years that followed she would not only be come to be known for her acting but she would also be identified by the company she keeps and how she keeps it. From keeping vials of blood of one of her husbands as a charm on a necklace to being accused of making out with her own brother at an award show, Angelina Jolie certainly has a knack for maybe not breaking the rules, but bending them just enough to drive the good God-fearing people of the world crazy while titillating all the guys in the audience. Angelina Jolie began getting credited movie roles at the age of 7 years old when she appeared with her father in the 1982 colossal box office flop Lookin' To Get Out. The movie did nothing for her career and it certainly didn't do anything for the career of Jon Voight but it did give Angelina Jolie a chance to be on the set for a real movie and it gave her experience that not many 7 year olds ever get. It is experience she would use and improve on as she decided to study with world famous acting coach Lee Strasberg before trying to take on her next role. In 1993 Angelina Jolie dropped the name Voight from her name and became the Angelina Jolie we all know today. She started acting regularly and began her career again in some short films that never amounted to anything at all. But later in 1993 she appeared in the movie Cyborg 2 with her first real role and a career was born. After that there was no looking back for Angelina Jolie.

In her career Angelina Jolie has played a variety of characters. She has played a sex symbol, an action star, and she has also appeared in many dramatic roles as well as comedy. In 1998 she starred in the controversial movie Gia about a fashion model's climb to the top and then horrible fall into a death from AIDS. She was brilliant and the critics, and male movie goers, loved her. She did several nude scenes and Angelina Jolie looked very comfortable nude in front of the camera and it is something she would repeat in other movies. For her work in the 1999 drama thriller Girl, Interrupted Angelina Jolie won the Academy Award for best supporting actress. From there she has gone on to such career making roles as the title role from the Lara Croft action movies and her newest role as Grendel's mother in the 2007 movie Beowulf.

Angelina Jolie also prides herself on her charity work. She is renowned around the world for her efforts to help the starving people of Africa and she has even adopted children from Africa as well. She continues to make movies and engage on charitable events all over the world as she has done all of her life and plans on continuing to do until she no longer feels like she is making any kind of impact in the world.
