If you are a fan of old movies, then you have more than likely seen the 1968 film entitled The Thomas Crown Affair. The 1999 movie remake called The Thomas Crown Affair started Pierce Brosnan, who you might know better from his role in the latter James Bond movies (including the smash hit Golden Eye). The whole move is based on a novel (that is called The Light of Day) and I think that is why it was such a good movie. It also did rather well in the box office, and that is why the movie is due to have a sequel. I feel that when movies, such as The Thomas Crown Affair, are made after a novel they usually do pretty good. That is because not only do you have to people who read the novel coming to see it, but you also have people who want to see the movie coming to see it. Although it is hard to make a movie as good as a book, this movie did pretty well. The Thomas Crown Affair had a 48 million dollar budget, and it far passed that in amount of money made. In fact, this film brought in 124 million dollars after all was said and done. That is a pretty good net gain if I do say so myself. When a movie like The Thomas Crown Affair does good, you know they have to make another one, and they are going to. The Topkapi Affair is set to be released in 2008, and is also a remake; Of a film called Topkapi. When something is good it well sell know matter what year it is.

The Thomas Crown Affair is about a man named Thomas Crown (who is played by Peirce Brosnan). This man is a self made billionaire who loves a good challenge. Of course, what is more of a challenge than stealing a priceless piece of art? So Thomas Crown goes and steals the San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk, which was painted by Monet. This one picture is valued at 100 million dollars. After he takes it, the insurance investigator aids the police in trying to find the person who committed the crime, and Thomas Crown is on the top of their list. However, this leads the movie into a game of cat and mouse, which is what Thomas Crown wanted in the first place. He is a man that loves to push the limits of what he can do. I guess when you have that much money, why not. There is nothing better to do than to steal artwork I guess. This is a great movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat thought the whole thing, and that is what you want in a movie. I think that is what makes it such a good movie to begin with.

If you have not seen The Thomas Crown Affair you should go out and rent it. It is a great movie and is worth seeing at least one time; however, bewared that you may want to buy the movie after seeing it. Also, you should go out and see this film before the next one comes out, this way you know what is going on. If you never see the first one, I do not think it is a good idea to go out and see the second one. That will just ruin a perfectly good movie, and sometimes a good movie is all we got in this world. So do yourself a favor and go out and rent The Thomas Crown Affair tonight, you will not be sorry you did. After all this is a movie that your family is going to like, and Pierce Brosnan does a great job in this movie. That is what you want in a movie, you want the star to give it everything hes got.
