The 15th Asian Games at Doha was the recent multi-sports event for Asian countries. The Asian games also known as Asiad is an outlet for skilled, talented athletes for countries falling in the region of Asia. The Asian Games are supervised by The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) making sure the rules and regulations are followed by every member country of Asian games, bringing enthusiastic and thrill to each event held after four years.
The supervision of Asian Games is done by The Olympic Council of Asia also known as OCA. This organization is the sports body of games being held in Asia. It is one of the five continental associations recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The Olympic Council was formed in 1982 having its permanent headquarters in Kuwait. The main aim of this organization is to create a sporty environment to the youth of each Asian country. This sports event promotes respect, peace and goodwill through this multi-sport event.


The first Asian Games at New Delhi, India were held in 1951, which was the formation of this sport event. These Asian Games are held after every four years rewarding metals as an award. Gold is given to the winners, Silver is for the second place and Bronze for the third place. Asian Games at Doha, Qatar were organized in 2006 from December 1st, 2006 to December 15th, 2006 which were the 15th Asian Games. The 16th Asian Games at Guangzhou, China will be held in from November 12, 2010 to November 27, 2010. in the year of 2014 it has been decided that the Asian Games at Incheon, South Korea will be organized.

After World War II many Asian countries became independent and felt that there should be an outlet for all Asian countries to bond and get to understand each country better rather than showing violence. Therefore, Asian Games at that time were formed to maintain the mutual understanding, friendship and peace between all the member countries of this multi-sports event.
