Many teenagers who have sex think that having sex will make them more of an adult than if they don’t have sex. In addition, teenagers feel much pressure to have sex with their significant other. Or, if they do think about getting pregnant they seem to believe that it will not happen to them the first time that they have sex with their significant other. High schools teach teenagers about sexual education but high schools don’t teach them teen pregnancy about. In addition, college students may take a general education course dealing with human sexuality and in that class about human sexuality, college students can and often do learn teen pregnancy about. It is claimed that education is the key ingredient in order to curtail or even stop the social issue and problem of teenage pregnancy.

In the past few years, there have been many movies created that have dealt with the subject of teenage pregnancy. On the Lifetime network there have been many movies that deal with women’s issues, including teenage pregnancy. In fact, the Lifetime network prides itself on having quality shows specifically targeting women, although many men watch Lifetime too. Their movies about teenage pregnancy have included: Fifteen and Pregnant, Mom at Sixteen, and Too Young to be a Father. These movies seem to be a step in the right direction of educating young girls about teenage pregnancy.
