It was originally named Mission San Antonio de Valero and served as a home to missionaries and Indians for almost seventy years. San Antonio and the Alamo played a vital role in achieving Texas Independence. The Alamo is open every day of the year except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Admission into the Alamo is free. There is also a lot of great shopping and a park around the Alamo’s location.

Sea World San Antonio offers extravagant views of ocean dwelling creatures. See Shamu fly above the water in his new show “Believe.” Sea World San Antonio also features a dolphin interaction exhibit where you can feed the dolphins and if you’re lucky you might even get to pet one. For a fee, you can even swim with the dolphins. Sea World San Antonio also has a few Budweiser Clydesdales on the premises and offers a short history of the Busch Clydesdales. Other shows include other sea animals at play. Escape the South Texas heat at Lost Lagoon Water Park. Enjoy the water rides and various swimming pools while visiting Sea World San Antonio.
