There are many symptoms of breast cancer, but unfortunately there are not very many symptoms of breast cancer that are not also symptoms of many other diseases so it can be difficult to identify the existence of breast cancer in a patient based solely on the appearance of a few symptoms of breast cancer.  The fact that symptoms of breast cancer often present in the forms that make it possible or easy for doctors to misdiagnose symptoms of breast cancer as evidence of another disease entirely make it all the more important for women who are displaying one or more symptoms of breast cancer to undergo breast cancer testing.  Without breast cancer testing, it can be easy for the symptoms of breast cancer to be ignored or misdiagnosed, so if you are displaying one or more of the many symptoms of breast cancer it is worth fighting for the chance to undergo breast cancer testing so that you can be absolutely certain whether or not you have the disease.

No woman who is displaying symptoms of breast cancer wants to believe that she has the disease, as breast cancer is a frightening disease that requires invasive and expensive treatment.  This is one of the reasons why many patients are willing to accept a diagnosis of a disease other than breast cancer when they are displaying one or even several known symptoms of breast cancer.  Nobody wants to have breast cancer, and it can be very difficult to face the fact that you have breast cancer even if breast cancer testing shows that your breast cancer is undeniable.  This is one reason why many women are hesitant to raise the possibility that they have breast cancer when they encounter one or many symptoms of breast cancer, even if it is the diagnosis that makes the most sense for their condition.  Breast cancer is not a disease that anybody wants to have or to diagnosis, so many people shy away from raising the possibility that the symptoms of breast cancer may indicate the presence of the disease.

Before they diagnosis breast cancer or recommend breast cancer testing, many doctors want to rule out the possibility that the symptoms of breast cancer that are present in a patient could point to any other disease.  While this is a choice that is almost always made in good faith and with good intentions, the fact that many doctors and patients don't want to pursue the possibility that symptoms of breast cancer may mean that a patient has breast cancer can sometimes delay breast cancer testing.  Delaying the breast cancer testing process means that if a patient does have breast cancer the disease will be farther along in its development before it is discovered, which can mean that treatment is even more invasive and expensive than if the breast cancer were discovered as soon as the breast cancer symptoms appeared.  If you are displaying one or more symptoms of breast cancer, it is important to let your doctor know that you are anxious to undergo breast cancer testing as soon as possible.  If you do have breast cancer, the more quickly it is found the more successful your treatment is likely to be.  If you do not have breast cancer, you will be able to rest assured after breast cancer testing that you will not have to face the kind of treatment that breast cancer requires.  If you are displaying breast cancer symptoms, make sure to undergo breast cancer testing as soon as possible, as there is certainly nothing to be gained by waiting to make sure that you do not have another disease before you undergo breast cancer testing.
