When you are planning an Xmas party you always want to come up with a bunch of fun Xmas celebration ideas. Not only can your fun Xmas celebration ideas be games for the party but also just fun ways to celebrate the season in general. There are a lot of fun Xmas celebration ideas that are inexpensive or even free and they can certainly liven up your party or even your entire season. Some of them are parlor games revised for the season but others are creative and fun ways that you can celebrate the season. Hopefully we can get you on a roll and it won’t be long before you are coming up with your own fun Xmas celebration ideas and creating holiday traditions that will last for generations in your family.

One of the more obvious fun Xmas celebration ideas is to play a version of charades specifically designed for the season. All of the words must be seasonal and this may even allow you to start to develop some new charades clues that can be used to describe some of the festive words. The best part about seasonal charades is that you cannot just point to the item you are trying to describe as that would be in violation of the rules of the game. So if someone picks the phrase “Christmas tree” then they have to act out a Christmas tree while they will probably be standing right next to one. Take your time and be creative and maybe come up with some more of your own rules that can add a whole new dimension to the game.

There is another fun Xmas celebration idea that is not done as often as it used to be now that everyone has CD players and most radio stations play Christmas music 24 hours a day starting in December. For some reason the idea of sitting around and singing Christmas carols got lost somewhere and it is a shame. It used to be that whole communities would get together, light small candles, and sing Christmas carols as the town lit their annual Christmas tree for the season. Now that tradition has been lost and it would be wonderful to bring that back again. Not too long ago people really still did go caroling in the days before Christmas and it was kind of neat to hear a chorus of people standing outside your house singing Christmas carols. Then you would open your door, offer them some Christmas treats, and they would move on to the next house. It would be nice to see that come back again.

Believe it or not there is a game catching on in some parts of the world that is a loose interpretation of pin the tail on the donkey and it is called pin the beard on Santa Claus. People hang up a picture of Santa Claus and then someone, impaired by either the spirits of the party or just being spun quickly in a circle, gets blindfolded and they have to pin the beard on Santa Claus. I am not sure why but the game can get very rowdy after a while as I guess some people can never get enough of incorrectly placed beards on Santa Claus. The other believe it or not is that this game is starting to catch on more at adult parties than any children’s parties which, I am sure, sends some sort of mixed message to the kids that no one probably understands.
