Sightseeing, Activities, and Hotels, Nashua, New Hampshire

Trying to find that ideal place to go on a vacation either with or without the whole family? What about trying to find that perfect small get away place? Why not try looking at some place you never would have looked at, Nashua, New Hampshire and Nashua, New Hampshire hotels. There are so many places to visit and so much to do that seeing the area and visiting there would be a great way to spend a vacation or even a weekend.

Nashua, New Hampshire was originally called Dunstable prior to its name change in 1836. It was well known for its textile mills which where actually operated by water power. The name Nashua came from its name sake, the Nashua River which was name by the Nashuway Indians. The city of Nashua is actually divided by the river. The last textile mill closed in 1949 and left most of the citizens unemployed. That was until the 1970’s when some other businesses moved into the area such as Digital Equipment.

Since we got a little bit of the history of Nashua out of the way, let’s talk about the city itself. There are a lot of hotels; Nashua seems to have more than one type. Not only are there traditional chain hotels, Nashua also has a few other hotels like a bed and breakfast and an inn. One rather quant place stuck out more than the regular Marriott, Hilton or other chains. The Nashua, NH hotels seem to be in a league all of their own. The Stonehedge Inn has quite a few amenities in which visitors would enjoy. Not only do they have the basics; air conditioning, maid service, telephone, lounge, and other popular amenities, it also offers babysitting/child care services, a driving range, secretarial services and they also have a doctor that is on call and twenty four hour room service. Can’t beat that can you? The Inn also offers special monthly activities such as wine maker dinners and wine tasting. If interested, a person can even get a massage and/or facial. Talk about luxury, what a way to stay. And the price isn’t all that bad either. Another place in the area would be the Pine Needles Bed and Breakfast. It is on the smaller side and does not have as much amenities but it is still rather delightful. As stated above the bed and breakfast does not have the amenities that the other hotels may have but it still has the basics such as they are. And what better way than to spend some intimate time with your significant other (if you go without children) than sitting in a quite room in front of a fire place. How romantic!

Now that we have discussed different hotels, Nashua also has some great places to explore, visit and shop; in another words, places to go. There are some outdoor activities if you are an outdoor person. How about fruit and vegetables; are you a person who enjoys fresh products but just doesn’t have the time to garden? Well, try visiting one of the local farms in the area. They offer tourists an option of going into the fields to pick their own products during harvest season. This could even be fun for the children; gets them out in the fresh air and sunshine. There are also many places to go to get in touch with nature. There is a bog and botanical preserve which has trails and a boardwalk in which overlooks it. The “Ponemah Bog” is a great place to see all kinds of plants and animals. Like to shop and go to flea markets, they also have some great shops in downtown Nashua along with different festivals and fairs during the summer time.

There is so much to see and do during any season in Nashua that it seems the perfect place to visit. Just remember that when choosing hotels, Nashua has plenty of them to choose from and you can always check out Nashua’s website to get more historical information and other information that you will need to plan the perfect trip.
