She's All That, the Movie by Robert Iscove

She's All That is a hugely popular romantic comedy film, made in the year 1999 and was directed by Robert Isscove. The film is said to be a modern remake of Pygmalion of the internationally renowned English dramatist, George Bernard Shaw. It is to be noted at the same time, that the same drama happened to be the basis of another famous film, better to say a musical comedy, My Fair Lady, in which actors like Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison acted.
The film She's All That portrays at the very outset Zach Siler who is the "big man on campus" at his California High School, as he happens to be both soccer player, class president and on the other hand, a honor student. Again, at the beginning of She's All That it is portrayed that his popular girlfriend, Taylor dumps him for a faded reality TV star, whom she came across during a spring break. However, though he is exceedingly hurt by the rejection of Taylor, Zach consoles himself by coming to the conclusion that Taylor is replaceable. But the best friend of Zach, Dean somewhat disagrees and even go to the extent of betting on whether or not Zach can turn any girl into the prom queen within the time limit of six weeks! While walking around the school, Dean picks out Laney Boggs, a morose but highly responsible art student, as his choice for Zach. Zach is seen to appraoch Laney in the attempt to transform her into Prom Queen. But his first encounter with her ends in a dismal failure. At this time an all round effort to make the promise of Zach a reality begins! While Zach's younger sister renders him quite a number of advices on how to romance Laney, on the other hand the brother of Laneey makes no less effort and continuously talks Zack up to Laney. However, Zach is eventually successful in getting Laney to invite him to a lounge for the most time, which is frequented by artists and performers and the two begin to see each other socially. After Laney becomes more comfortable with Zach and his friends, Zach's sister convinces Laney to submit to a make over! At this phase the She's All That enters into a critical stage, with the revelation of the carnal desire of Dean to pursue Laney sexually! To her great embarrassment, Dean reveals the innermost truth of the bet to Laney in public. The sudden but true incident makes Laney so upset that she storms out of the cafeteria and vows not to go to the prom. In spite of still holding a torch for Zach, she ends up attending the prom with Dean.

In the meantime, Dean in respect of the need to fulfil his sensual aspiration crosses all limits and seems as if he is ready to cross all the norms of the civil society! This is best shown when at the prom, Dean is found to bring out a key to a hotel room and informing his male friends that he is going to get 'lucky' with Laney on that very night. Fortunately Jesse, the best friend of Laney overhears and rushes to inform Zach, who has been elected as Prom King. Being informed Zach rushses to save Laney from utter ignominy but by that time both had had already left. But when Laney arrives at her house Zach is found to be waiting for her. The next part of She's All That witnesses a honest and candid explanation from Lane, regarding how she fought off Dean's advances and left him at the hotel. During this moment, Zach reveals his true feelings for Laney and asks for pardon, which she grants readily. Zach then tells her that she has inspired him to pursue a career in performance art. The ending scens of the film perceive Laney asking Zach what would happen now that he lost the bet. The movie then cuts to their graduation. It is then revealed that Zach promised to show up the graduation ceremony nude.
