Thinking of Sexy vinyl lingerie you probably think about light, thin material, usually see- through, draped over the female body. Before Christ, though, there were women very bold who’s ideas of lingerie was a boned bodice corset, designed not for support, but to tease men, by pushing their breasts up and out, literally exposing them in their entire splendor. Although they achieved the “sexy” part, the lingerie part was nothing like we think of as lingerie today.
In the middle ages, silhouettes go from profound to padded. It was felt that the silhouette should be restrained, especially the breasts, which they thought should be firm and small. In medieval times, women were many styles of corsets over their dresses, all with the similar purpose of flattening their breasts. Of course men didn’t notice their being flattened, so most women were bells so that they could get the men’s attention when they jingled. Thankfully though, sexy vinyl lingerie has come a lot further now.
In the 18th Century, life was becoming lighter, and clothing trends followed. Corsets were decorated with beautiful embroidery, ribbons and laces. Also breasts were pushed up more, which defiantly caught men’s attention. Later on though people started to rebel against many things and corsets were no exception. Doctors spoke about the damage corsets were doing to the women and their bodies. So boned corsets were outlawed.
Though in 1840, whalebone corsets were back again, though this time huge hoops and crinolines, covered with all kinds of fabrics and trim. In those days, a man knew he had found a good woman if he could put his hand around her waist. So still today women are trying to keep up to that by cinching their selves even tighter.
Even Sexy latex lingerie has come far, it’s sheek look, it looks so shiny and most role- playing costumes are made from latex. As uncomfortable as it looks, I’ve heard it’s pretty comfortable and not so hot.
By the 19th century, the corset had become a supporter not only of breasts but of the newly- created stockings, Stockings were held up by garters and suspenders attached to the corset- a very complex system of rigging. By the beginning of the 20th century, corsets were being laced down as far as the knee. Many didn’t like that style, and fashion designers were leaning more towards uncorseted, more free flowing style. Of course with the invention of the sewing machine, times where about to make a huge turnaround.
So now women are free to themselves to wear what makes them feel sexy. Some even prefer to wear just the sexy latex lingerie while others just like something light and breezy. What ever style you are more comfortable with. You can be sure that in this century it is defiantly out there.
