Whenever a movie does something that you have never seen before then you fall in love with that movie. I mean, we hate going to the movie theater only to see the same movies over and over again. It feels like it is not worth the money, however, the movie Seven Samurai is not one of those movies. Its is great, and I enjoyed watching it today even though it was made back in 1954. Now this movie had to things going against it that I usually do not like so I cannot believe that I liked it so much. First of all, I do not like movies that are overseas films. This is a Japanese film so I did not think that I would like it as much as an American film. Also, it is an older movie, and I usually do not like watching these types of movies either, however, Seven Samurai did something that made me fall in love with it. The actors in the movie were good which is a must for a great movie. Even so, because I am not from Japan I did not know any of them so that was not a big deal to me. The story was also very fun and entertaining, however, this is not what made Seven Samurai stand out to me. To me what stood out was the different lenses they used on this film. They used both the telephoto lens and the wide angle lens as well. This made Seven Samurai a masterpiece to look at. This is something that I have never seen done is such an old movie. I think it is great that someone was thinking outside the box. This film is pretty fast pace and has an enjoyable storyline, however, the way the film looks is so great and so different that it made the movie stand out from the rest. In fact, if you compare it to the other movies in America and Japan that came out around the same time you will see that no movie can stand up to this one. It has everything that you want to see in a great movie, and that is why I love it.

Now Seven Samurai is thought to be one of the most influential films of all time. Now this is great that it still has this effect on people many years later. I think that it goes to show you that when you have a great movie like Seven Samurai, it is going to be enjoyed by many people long after it has been released. The storyline is pretty simple, and I think that is what makes it great. There is no flashy story, just a good one. The whole story is about a village that hires Seven Samurai masters to combat bandits who keep stealing their crops. Sure it is not the most in depth movie, but it does what it needs to do. This is one of those movies that I could watch over and over again, and still love it. I have so much fun looking at all the work that the director put into the movie. I think that it shows that some directors from back in the day put a little more work into their movies than people of today. I mean, I do not see why people cannot go out of their just a little more in this time period to make a great movie. I think they should because that is what people want to see when they go to the theater for a movie, however, this does not happen often.

Seven Samurai is a movie that I will never forget, and because it was such a great movie I have been more open to watching movies from overseas. I know that not everyone likes watching overseas movies, and that is fine, however, if it is something that you have never tried then you cannot really knock it before you try it. I love the Seven Samurai, and I am sure that you will as well.
